Recklessness, Danger, Malice. Reversed, Thurisaz is the thorn turned inward: hasty decisions, provocations that invite needless conflict, or ill will from someone near. Do not force the passage now — the defense is compromised.
In a spread
- In the past
- A conflict, a rupture or a necessary defense opened the road to here — the thorn has already wounded, and the wound still steers your movements.
- In the present
- Reactive force is in the field: something calls for active defense or deliberate breaking. Thor's hammer protects the enclosure — but only when wielded with awareness.
- In the future
- It announces a cleansing shock: a barrier will be broken or a confrontation will surface. If you choose the moment, the storm works in your favor.
- As advice
- Do not start the attack; prepare the defense. The tradition sets Thurisaz at the frontier: mark your boundaries clearly before others cross them.
